In loving memory of Mary Hard.
Remembering Mary
Mary Hard lived a life devoted to healing and to others. A Reiki Master and a school teacher for challenged youth, she poured patience, compassion, and quiet strength into everything she touched. Though we never had the chance to meet Mary in person, her spirit is unmistakable in every piece she left behind.
After 2020, High Ho Gems had the privilege of welcoming Mary's mineral collection, and later her extraordinary bead and jewelry collection. Working alongside her wonderful son — who wanted nothing more than to see his mother's memory and her beloved minerals live on — we were honored to become caretakers of her legacy.
Mary's collection was never the largest, but it carried some of the most beautiful energy we've ever felt. If you remember the very large Brazilian Quartz cluster that once stood in our store, or the great Rose Quartz that still rests beneath our Reiki table from time to time — those were Mary's. Powerful, radiant pieces, each one chosen with intention.
Above all, Mary was an artist. She made her own stunning jewelry, and her beads — thousands upon thousands of strands — still live on at High Ho Gems today. When Jessica creates a piece of jewelry for you, Mary's beads often find their way into it. In this way, her artistry continues to travel out into the world, worn and loved by people she never met.
Every piece of Mary Hard's jewelry was made with love, energy, and Reiki healing. Though we no longer have her specimens for sale, her spirit lives on — in the hands that wear her creations, in the memories of those who knew her, and in the gentle energy she left woven through it all.
From the Collection
Photos of Mary's minerals and jewelry — like her Brazilian Quartz cluster — will be added here. Send them over whenever you're ready.
